Ingredients:

40g granola

80g frozen mixed berries
1 pot weightwatchers strawberry desert style yogurt

Put berries at the bottom, granola on top and split the yogurt between the two pots!

The bike is finally set up and I have set a new challenge starting today. My goal is to go 100 miles on it (not in one go im not quite up to that yet!). I will keep track of my progress on here

Apple, Malteaser and feta, tomato and cucumber Snack pots

Apple and Malteaser snack pots (1 pot = 90 calories)

each pot has half a funsize bag of malteasers and half a chopped apple

Feta, Tomato and Cucumber snack pots (each pot =88 calories)

Each pot has 2 cherry tomatoes, 2 thick slices of cucumber cubed and 30g feta cubed

These along with my meals (bagel and nutella, veg cous cous and pasta with dolmio and a little cheddar) takes me up to 1700 calories for today which I am happy with.

I also downloaded davina superfit from Itunes which I did for the first time today so hopefully that will help as well!

My Realization

Today I realised I fail at diets because I fail at eating three meals a day. I cant stand going hours and hours between eating and if I am being honest I dont WANT to stand it. It occurs to me that perhaps doing what I have been doing for the last 15 years of " I am on a diet" didnt work then and it wont work now. Planning my meals out (3 meals a day) carefully counting the calories in each meal and following my sisters advice to have an apple when I feel hungry just makes me grumpy and I invariably end up having a sandwich to calm my nerves. If I am honest I am greedy when it comes to food. Perhaps though I have been looking at it all wrong, I like snacking so why not. I am probably saying what millions of people know but I need to fit my diet to my needs. I need to snack so I need to find healthy snacks and fit them in to my meals plans, if that means reducing my main meals then perhaps thats what i need to do. Afterall I keep hearing people say eat little and often (or is that for morning sickness - whatever the point remains).
I will be looking to lose 50 pounds. That means going from 180 pounds to 140. At 140 I will still be overweight as I am only 5 foot 2, but its a start. I am going to try to replace my snacks of choice which are mostly rubbish with healthier ones and count those calories into my diet each day rather than my favourite weight watchers trick - not recording it and pretending it didnt happen.

Here I go.

First things first

Before we start there are 3 vey important things you need to understand about me.
1.I am not a good cook, I cook well enough to keep myself and my family alive. So I am on a cookery adventure when I begin this blog.
2. I am not a good dieter - I am about 50-60 pounds overweight which is why I started this blog time to ACT!
3. I am not a professional writer or photographer so if I make mistakes please forgive me. Luckily in real life I rarely need to depend on my writing or photography skills so what a few spelling mistakes and badly taken photographs between friends.
